Australian Music In Tune
Various famous and semi-famous Australian musicians have come together to “star” in a documentary about how they don’t think you should download music.
The documentary, called “Australian Music In Tune” is intended to be distributed virally through file-sharing sites and YouTube.
Which is really quite strange.
The 10 minute doco is heavy on the Veronicas, saying how, like, hard it is to be a, you know, musician. Other artists make an appearance talking about how they have to pay back the label before they see any money from record sales.
Some of the bands and artists in the doco became known, in part, through freely distributing their music through places like MySpace and the like but now would rather you actually bought their CDs, indicating that the industry thinks that using the internet is OK until you get famous enough to have to be a part of the machine. Weird.
